Duration: 8 months
Description:
At 100 Peckham High Street, we undertook an extensive restoration project, transforming the historic Lancaster School from 1822 into a modern, adaptable space, potentially for office use. This ambitious project, completed over eight months, involved a wide range of construction and restoration activities to maintain the building’s historical integrity while upgrading its functionality.
We installed a brand-new roof, including a top section crafted from lead to replicate the original 1822 design. The project also included a loft conversion and a new extension on the first floor. We replaced all electrical systems, plumbing, and underground pipes, ensuring the building met modern standards.
New stairs and screeding were installed, alongside reinforced concrete and metals, designed by a structural engineer to ensure safety and stability. We also installed brand-new pillar stairs, replicating the original 1822 design. The entire building, encompassing approximately 350 square meters, was meticulously restored to mirror its historical appearance, both on the facade and inside.
This project highlights our dedication to preserving historical architecture while providing modern amenities, creating a space that honors its past while serving contemporary needs.
